Petals that Never Droop

Birthed in my soul
Is gloom
Upon thoughts
That won't wane
In my mind
Where you keep popping.
Birthed in my soul
Is an untamed flame sea
That rages
More than it does.

What flickers most
Is what you said
About what you did
When the freezing flames
Known
To the Bride of the Nile
Held you hostage–
Did something befall
Upon an overdose?
My stance is fixated
Somewhere
Between blackness and darkness
Where your tears and turmoil
Hit on my soul
With a clarity beyond clear.

I hope you just tethered
To the realm of slumber–
Don't you know it
My rose,
The monster I dread most?
I hope my soul
Just knows this–
That the rose I tend to
Is guarded
By some thorns
That my souls seeks,
With vehemence,
From the cosmos.

But my rose,
There's a beam of light
Which pierced my iris–
That your words,
Laden with wit,
Never cease to speak
To the troubled souls
Whom I see
Talk of your soul,
Full of gold
And unceasing glitter.

Did you see it,
The way flagrance
Never ceases oozing
From your invincible petals?
Do you remember it,
How a soul
Among your cosmic family
Sought the aquifer
From which this flagrance oozes?
Do you recall it,
How those budding ones,
Crave for the warmth
Housed in your cold fire?
Wouldn't they risk the cold
Than miss
An ounce of your warmth?
And do you recall it,
Among these,
The one who beseeched you
To give them a rope,
One who saw your wings
Gather energy for flight?

In this darkness
I thought of inking
The rose you are
Which never droops
And whose flagrance
Never sees a stop
Throughout the icy fires
That color your abode.
