I Know It for Them

To that soul out there
Who keeps floating
And sinking,
The world doesn't know it.
I know it
On behalf of the world.

To that soul out there
In a tag of war
With false alarms
That alert you
Day in day out
That keep you
With your fists clenched
Ready to fight
Or that keep you
Swinging your eyes
From left to right –
In flight mode.
The world knows not
But I know on its behalf.

For those souls
Who keep battering
Scary memories
Such that when the sun shines
You yearn
For time to retire
And when it's time to retire
Your bed is a swamp
Yearning for daybreak.
I know the world doesn't know
But I know on its behalf.

I see you in the streets
Seeking calm
From a chain of joints.
I know the world knows not
About the mess you wallow in
But rest assured
That I know it
For them.

Hey wonderful soul
In a labyrinth
Of floating and sinking,
False alarms
And injurious memories
I understand for the world
The wilderness you wander across.

Hey wonderful soul
We're together in this.
We're writing a beautiful story
Of how we were never shattered
In an ignorant world
Where no one knew it.

Hey wonderful soul
Let's keep pressing on
For it's too early
To be food
To bacteria and fungi.
Rest assured, my friend
That I know it
On behalf of the world.

(A poem to encourage those who wallow in depression, anxiety and trauma. I love you so much, so don't lose the battle.)
